What you'll do at

With direction from the Director of Manufacturing, the position is accountable for safety, quality, productivity, material handling, cost performance, capital improvements, and managing employee relations in a high speed manufacturing work environment. Job demands monitoring production performance and implementing processes, procedures, and methods to improve results in all key functional areas. Position is responsible for implementing and maintaining best manufacturing practices and regulatory compliance for all production activities. Accountable for overall site security and any escalation issues for the facility on the evening shift across all work areas, as well as preventive maintenance, site security, and arranging for equipment repair. Enforce deadlines and build commitment to goals. Recommend and implement solutions for changes and improvements.


■ Directs and reports on the Ohio Operations Facility during the evening shift, to ensure that that the Days to Ship, Fill Rate, Returns & Re-ships and other quality metrics are maintained.
■ Manages workflow, people and resources of the Production Department on a nightly basis.
■ Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and ensures staff complies with standards.
■ Prepares operational schedules and coordinates activities to ensure quality of products meets standards.
■ Resolves operational problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
■ Participates in inspecting machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
■ Determines when raw materials need to be ordered and in what quantities. May also place orders as required.
■ Contributes to production through hands-on participation as needed.
■ Responsible for recruiting and training of operations staff.
■ Conducts employee reviews and coaches and counsels staff.
■ Maintains facility needs where applicable.
■ Maintains a variety of records related to the above duties.
■ Works with the Customer Service Department to maintain and service customers' needs.


■ Associate's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations, or Business Management Required
■ Prefer single-piece/make to order production and assembly experience, with at least 2 years of experience managing the workflow, people and resources of a production department.
■ Minimum 3-5 years experience managing in a high volume, custom-order production arena.
■ Must be process-oriented.
■ Ability to measure business decisions and performance using metrics.
■ Experience in lean manufacturing and the visual factory principles a plus.
■ Familiarity with Kaizen and process flow events is a plus.
■ Basic reading, writing, alphabetizing, and numeric ability.
■ Able to lift and carry 50 pounds and work any shift.
■ Familiar with basic web navigation, Excel, Access, and Word
