<ABOUT THE ROLE>

As a Fashion Merchandise Senior Planning Manager for Women's RTW & Premium Beauty, you are responsible for managing inventory, planning and forecasting for high-growth, complex merchandise categories – ensuring that assortment, price and availability are a “win-win” for our customers and Walmart eCommerce. Creativity and agility will be paramount as you identify retail trends and synthesize information from multiple touch points – providing financial plans and supporting business solutions in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional environment.

<WHAT YOU’LL DO>

Collaboration:

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams across the organization (Category Management, Site Merchandising, Finance, Marketing) to develop category financial plans and budgets

Demand Planning:

  • Provides direction, review and approval of demand plans/inventory strategies and portfolio for category
  • Evaluates and modifies work processes to ensure inventory purchases meet demand for strategic category sales
  • Oversees analyses, risk assessment and modeling on inventory plans and business trends
  • Drives the execution of multiple business plans and projects
  • Ensures business needs are being met

Financial Analysis:

  • Reviews and approves annual, monthly, weekly and daily sales, profit and inventory projections to ensure key financial metrics on the P&L statement and balance sheet are met for the category
  • Develops key metrics for other category teams
  • Prepares financial analyses and reports to understand and explain business trends and performance
  • Prepares risk and opportunity analysis
  • Models, analyzes, and evaluates impact of key variables (e.g., shipping promotions, rollbacks, seasonal campaigns) on business performance

Financial Planning:

  • Leads the development of category financial plans and budgets to support strategic plans

Forecasting and Financial Planning:

  • Manages forecast meetings and processes and decision making for a highly complex category
  • Develops, reviews and approves forecast plans for category
  • Reviews and makes recommendations on vendor/seller forecasts to ensure alignment to category and overall eCommerce business strategies

Order Processing:

  • Provides direction, review and approval of orders for the category
  • Identifies criteria for assortment, pricing and shipping decisions for category
  • Develops purchasing recommendations for category management counterparts

People Development:

  • Builds and leads a team to execute on business area or category objectives
  • Coaches team members and provide feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance
  • Have performance and career development conversations
  • Maintains team motivation and engagement
  • Mentors Planners
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates

<WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE (QUALIFICATIONS)>

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in finance, inventory replenishment, category management, site merchandising, pricing or related area
