What you'll do at is looking for a Senior Systems & Network Administrator to join our IT and Production Support team. The Senior Systems & Network Administrator will take a leading role on the team as the primary network administrator while also working on Linux, Windows, and VMware as an IT generalist. This is an excellent role for any individual that knows and gets excited working with a wide range of technologies. The role will be responsible for managing our non-production and production environments in multiple offices and data centers around metro Boston.

A successful candidate will have the following skills:

  • 10+ Years’ experience in System and Network Administration and or related field
  • Strong understanding of networking principles with an ability to configure, monitor, and maintain switches, routers, and firewalls. The networking stack is made up of Cisco and Checkpoint gear and a knowledge of both hardware platforms is a very strong plus
  • Proven record managing, designing, and deploying LAN/WAN solutions for a multi-site deployment
  • Strong understanding of security best practices and how to apply them in their network
  • Strong understanding of Linux with an ability to build, configure, and manage Linux systems
  • Administrator level understanding of Windows and Active Directory enough toperform such tasks as user creation, group management
  • Managing business critical production environments and corporate IT
  • Network and systems capacity planning – experience with E-commerce style capacity fluctuations a plus
  • Participate in the on-call schedule for the Infrastructure team
  • A strong attention to detail with strong technical writing and documentation skills

Additional Responsibilities:

  • This role will report into the Director of Infrastructure
  • The role will also take direction for project and compliance related work (PCI, PII,SOX, etc.)
  • Serve as an escalation point for the Helpdesk to service more technical requests as well as to mentor the team.
  • Adaptability with the ability to prioritize while gaining alignment and buy-in
  • Occasionally work outside normal business hours to perform maintenance and other work as required by the needs of the business
  • Ability to travel around metro Boston, as needed, to manage and support’s two local offices and a data center

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (ansible, puppet, chef, docker, etc.)
  • Managing VPNs
  • Strong scripting skills
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting particularly as it relates to network and network performance
  • Experience with compliance (PCI, NIST, ITIL, HIPAA, etc.)
