The Photographer will be responsible for shooting off-figure, soft and hard goods products for our e-commerce site according to our standards without deviation.  The photographer creates exceptional results utilizing their skills and creative abilities to enhance our overall brand for Walmart as a whole. The photographer is required to be able to shoot our most complex items including jewelry. This role must be familiar and experienced with both table top and laydown and may on occasion shoot editorial.

The ideal candidate will be experienced, detail oriented, organized, and will demonstrate comfort with ambiguity. A positive attitude is a must with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will possess the ability to succeed with minimal guidance and be skilled at anticipating problems and resolving them. 


This role requires proven studio experience leadership skills.  The ideal candidate will execute on the following:

  • Product photography of hard and soft goods, including jewelry
  • Composition of shots based on style guides to meet with our vision.
  • Use of Capture One
  • Use of Photoshop to perform basic retouching functions
  • Execute highest of standards by setting up lighting, composition, color accuracy, and exposure for each shot.
  • Ensure consistency between shots by understanding and complying with daily color management.
  • Manage production on set to verify images are delivered consistently on set within SLA
  • Identify and resolve roadblocks in the workflow
  • Frequent meetings with team to gain their feedback so they can continue to learn and improve
  • Lead, encourage and innovate new ideas to stay ahead of competition and stand out in our photography and execution

The studio is fast-paced environment with an average of 30-100 items per bay daily, depending on category of business. A strong focus and sense of urgency is required along with the following skills:

  • Ability to photograph any stills item for the studio production workflow.
  • Compose shots based on style guides and art direction to meet with our vision.
  • Execute highest of standards by setting up lighting, composition, color accuracy, and exposure for each shot.
  • Display expert technical knowledge of camera hardware, capturing software, studio lighting, and a strong eye for detail.
  • Efficient workflow management, organization and communication.
  • Preform daily quality control and address results with the photography team.
  • Oversee the development training materials and guides as needed including thoroughly documenting all processes and procedures
  • Conduct on-going competitive analysis to ensure best in class experience
  • Must be willing to be “hands on” to solve problems


  • Bachelor’s degree in Photography, Art, or related field
  • Knowledge of photographic techniques such as lighting & composition.
  • 4+ years as a photographer in an E-commerce Photography environment
  • Pro knowledge with Capture One software and studio lighting equipment
  • Knowledge of photographic techniques such as lighting & composition
  • Expert knowledge in color correction
  • Superior skills with Photoshop
  • Pro knowledge Operating experience of Mac OS
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work within deadlines, thinking creatively to increase productivity and throughput.
  • Results driven and a sense of urgency.
  • Self-starter and self-driven.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills


  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in photography or related field.
  • 1+ years of supervisory experience
