Position Summary

Walmart U.S. eCommerce is looking for a Manager in Strategy & Analytics to lead the development and implementation of topnotch analytics for the Retail Organization. You will be responsible for building out a holistic view of Marketplace and Assortment Performance as well as complex, cross-functional, and highly visible strategic data modeling that will help drive a world-class experience for the customer.

The Manager in Strategy & Analytics will be highly skilled at engaging and communicating across multiple domains and cross-functional business, engineering, and product organizations. You will work closely with the Retail Analytics leads to build out the Analytics roadmap, identify, and implement opportunities through advanced analysis towards boosting sales and improving customer experience. You will also be responsible for building critical performance indicators that will help track towards the company’s desired goals. You will leverage problem solving approaches, be agile and apply the right end to end framework and analyses for new and ongoing initiatives.

Position Description

  • Work very closely with business leadership in driving initiatives within their roadmap
  • Manage a team of analysts and ensuring the team is aligned, on track with their deliverables and roadmap
  • Build and maintain analytics data framework and scheduled processes
  • Work with large scale data sets: extract data from sources across multiple platforms (for e.g., dotcom, stores etc.) and synthesize into dashboards or insightful information
  • Partner with stakeholders from various internal groups
  • Leads initiatives ranging from ad-hoc deep dives and root cause analysis to building robust, scalable data models
  • Manages the continuous improvement of data science and analytical processes and infrastructure
  • Promotes and supports company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity
  • Provides supervision and development opportunities for associates

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Math, Engineering, Economics or related field
  • Strong attention to detail and highly comfortable with ambiguity in solving business problems.
  • Ability to handle competing priorities and manage requests in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in large-scale data models and ETL processing
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills and problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools.
  • Must be self-driven and passionate about retail and must be customer centric. Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment
  • 5+ years’ experience in business analytics and/or data science
  • Proficient with SQL (experience in Cloud platform, Hive and Teradata utilities preferred)
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • Hands on experience with BI tools; Tableau /R shiny/Looker
  • Ability to explain/present complicated/advanced analytical methodology and results to non-technical audiences
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent quantitative modeling, statistical analysis skills and problem-solving skills. Sophisticated user of statistical tools.

  • Expertise with open source data science tools and platforms (Tensorflow, Pytorch, Keras)
