What you'll do at

About the Position

Collaboration:

  • Interacts with category and marketing teams to gather information, data and requirements
  • Collaborates with cross-functional team members in own sub-category (i.e., Marketing, Merchandising, Consumer Insights, Creative Resources) to assist with the execution of product development plans
  • Effectively communicates consumer product requirements for the sub-category to business partners
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans

Managing the Development of New Products:

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of consumer product development objectives
  • Ensures completion of assigned product development activities (e.g., product definition, scope, boundaries, targets and timeline) in the product development plan; Identifies and elevates issues to consumer product manager that may affect product timelines for the sub-category or business area

Market Research and Analysis:

  • Gathers relevant data (e.g. customer/supplier reviews and competitive data), performs product research and coordinates with category and related teams to analyze performance and product features within a sub-category or business area
  • Identifies industry trends
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

People Development:

  • Coaches less experienced team members and provides feedback to enhance skills, knowledge and work performance
  • Mentors less experienced Consumer Product Development Specialists

Product Development Strategy:

  • Demonstrates a solid understanding of product development strategy and executes activities in the product development plan related to own sub-category or business area
  • Suggests additional development opportunities for the product development forecast based on product and sub-category knowledge and interaction with category specialists, suppliers, and related team members
  • Provides more complex data for products in a sub-category or business area to inform development of consumer product development plan
  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
