We are looking for a Senior level Strategy and Analytics leader to help develop and execute the strategy for a confidential new business Walmart eCommerce will be launching this year.  The leader will combine talent in using a variety of data mining and analysis methods to develop data driven solutions to complex business challenges along with strong organization skills to drive the implementation of those solutions.

The leader of this team will develop product vision, strategy, and road-map by compiling and analyzing customer feedback, site usage, market research, and competitive analysis to identify new product opportunities and system enhancements. They will collaborate with multiple teams to develop and evaluate business cases to support product investment decisions, and present product strategy to senior leadership. They will set performance goals and measure growth and adoption of new products and overall program effectiveness.


This is a roll up your sleeves doer role that will serve as a critical thought partner and leader to set and implement the strategy for a strategic high profile new business designed to accelerate growth. 

  • Define strategy.
  • Create data models for decision-making using mathematical modeling techniques, statistical analysis, and mathematical optimization.
  • Produce cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and simulation modeling.
  • Decide product business and operational performance measures.
  • Define the metrics required.
  • Create underlying data infrastructure.
  • Think creatively to identify multiple solutions to a problem and remove barriers.
  • Set clear expectations, performance measures, and goals for the program.  Determine resources and implementation timelines to accomplish the program’s most critical business initiatives.
  • Develop and communicate logical, convincing reasoning to determine program strategy, and use data to convince others.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with business partners, co-workers, or other key stakeholders, soliciting, evaluating, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost effectiveness.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of experience manipulating data sets and building statistical models and demonstrated use of data mining techniques.
  • Experience using statistical computer languages (Python, SLQ, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets.
  • Experience using web services: Redshift, S3, Spark, etc.
  • Knowledge of a variety of machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks, etc.) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests and proper usage, etc.) and experience with applications.
  • Experience visualizing/presenting data for stakeholders.
  • Desire to learn and master new technologies and techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for coordinating across teams.

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s or PHD in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or another quantitative field.
  • Coding knowledge and experience with several languages: C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.
