What you'll do at

As Category Assistant, you will be responsible for item set up, PO management, site optimization, and editorial sample coordination.  This includes coordinating the setup of items to orderability working cross functionally with teams to ensure timely receipt of product.  You will also manage the item page content, cross-sells, and attributes to improve the customer shopping experience on the site and improving conversion.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for Jira ticket management and timely resolution.


  • 1+ years of experience in merchandising, customer service, project coordination, or administrative capacity.
  • Proficient in Microsoft ExcelPreferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Merchandising and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans

Business Relationships:

  • Manages purchase orders with suppliers, buyers and other vendors for own products
  • Pursues strategic partnerships with other brands and retailers for own products
  • Implements best practices for merchandising processes and vendor management

Category Financials:

  • Creates regular sales reports that analyze product performance relative to overall business results
  • Reviews financial performance to determine pricing for products
  • Tracks performance of own products against organizational financial targets (e.g., GMV and margin)
  • Category Tracking/Monitoring:
  • Enters and maintains SKUs for own products/area
  • Manages and monitors onboarding and item set-up for own products, including setting up vendors, processing purchase orders and scheduling appointments with brands
  • Maintains product category data to determine conversion rates for own product
  • Keeps up to date with product trends for own product and related products
  • Identifies opportunities to improve category performance through own product
  • Learns multiple systems and sites required to maintain and enter SKUs


  • Collaborates with sub-category team members
  • Begins to understand SKU overlap and impact on other areas of the business
  • Considers recommendations and analytics for own products within a sub-category provided
  • Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans

Market Positioning and Analytics:

  • Begins to use analytics and reporting tools to evaluate product performance
  • Learns how to use analytics to make decisions for own area or products, with guidance
  • Analyzes product margins and benchmarks product performance against competitors for own products
  • Conducts recurring analysis to inform the product's strategic direction, including assortment, product sourcing and pricing
  • Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity

  • Requests feedback on own work and provides feedback to others

  • Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions

Shopper/Customer Experience:

  • Monitors online presence for own products across multiple websites, including product presentation and content
  • Evaluates customer reviews, recognizes trends, considers recommendations from site merchandising and develops observations for assigned products
  • Identifies opportunities and implements tactics to optimize online customer experience and website usability for own products

Strategic Visioning:

  • Understands the vision of the category and how own product connects to it

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field
