Project Manager– Technical Design and Innovation
The Project Manager, Design & Innovation, Fulfillment Engineering is responsible for managing the development and project execution of next generation solutions (machines, processes, work stations, etc., automated and manual) for use within the extended Walmart e-commerce fulfillment network (including Walmart sortable, Walmart Non-sortable, Jet Sortable, Jet Fresh, Sam’s Club, Hayneedle, Shoebuy, etc.). Your ultimate goal is to lower Variable Cost Per Unit (VCPU) and Total Cost Per Unit (TCPU) in order to support the growth of the e-commerce fulfillment network.
Challenges you’ll be tackling
Champion the process of design and technology innovation in e-commerce fulfillment: You will be responsible for establishing an environment that speeds up the innovation cycle of continuous testing and iteration.
Build strong partnerships: You will be fostering relationships, partnerships and collaborations between suppliers, research institutes, innovation incubators with innovation ecosystems across the world to harness the cutting-edge technology solutions that will help reinvent ecommerce order fulfillment operations. You will be responsible for managing the development of next generation design for sortable, non-sortable and fresh network and will need to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the design that meets/exceeds the requirement.
• Manage development, implementation, and execution schedules, task lists, and resource requirement to support ideation and evaluation of technologies to support the growth of the e-commerce fulfillment network.
• Support creation, documentation, and tracking of project budgets.
• Be primary point of contact for internal and external teams (vendors) to support project execution
• Be a leader by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the Walmart standards and best practices
• Generate executive presentations, animations, video, business cases and other communication media, as needed, to convey next generation fulfillment technologies to the engineering leadership team to keep them informed of the strategy, plans and future programs.

Travels domestically to and from Hoboken, Bentonville, San Bruno and all Walmart and Jet facilities or work-sites to participate in meetings, workshops, project deployments, company events, etc. requiring overnight stays. Some international travel may be required (Percent of travel = 50% or more)
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a fast paced environment, effectively managing projects to deliver results on time and within budget, including experience managing suppliers and contract negotiation/management.
• Minimum 2 years of operations experience working in either start-up or consulting environments
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related technical field.
• Allstar with the Microsoft office suite
• History of establishing project governance and process
• Project Management Professional (PMP)
• Experience with robotics, warehouse management systems, or warehouse execution systems a plus
