About the Social Media team

The Social Media marketing team is responsible for our national, social media brand presence (e.g., our @walmart handles). Our team’s mission is to help build and strengthen the Walmart brand through both compelling storytelling and authentic social interactions. Through our work, our team connects with consumers on an unprecedented scale. We’re looking for creative, forward thinking, and data-driven social media marketers to help shape social content and engagement for the world’s largest retailer at this pivotal moment in our company history.

About the Role

The @Walmart team is looking for a Social Media Insights & Analytics expert to help us use data and insights to power our strategies. Based in our Hoboken, NJ (Walmart ecommerce / Jet offices), in this role you will …

• Track paid, owned, and earned social media content performance across all brand social activities
• Conduct social listening to inform both real time customer engagement opportunities as well as overall trends
• Use data to facilitate storytelling and develop original insight that drives content strategy and creative direction
• Communicate findings in thoughtful, timely share-out reporting to internal teams, partner agencies, senior management, and others
• Drive our test and learn agenda to measure impact of various content & engagement strategies – and identify opportunities for optimization
• Define the tool stack needed for social listening and analytics
• Identify top performing organic content for additional paid amplification
• Work with agency partners to supplement in-house capabilities
• Partner with Global Insights & Analytics team to leverage customer insights to inform our strategies

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, with a minimum of 5 years of social media insights & analytics experience for a major brand or company (client-side or agency-side)
• Experienced user of social Listening tools such as Crimson Hexagon, Sysomos, Radian6, BrandWatch, and others
• Experienced user of social media ads & analytics tools (including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, YouTube, Snapchat)
• Familiarity with data aggregation and visualization software such as Tableau, Domo, or Bime Analytics
• Knowledge and awareness of new and sophisticated listening methodologies utilizing image recognition, NLP, machine learning, and automation
• Comfortable working in both nimble start-up environments and navigating large corporations
• Have a can-do, roll-up sleeves attitude
• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Superior organization, project management skills, and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Comfortable working with a remote team that spans several office locations
• Demonstrated decision making and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
• Ability and willingness to travel – and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, when needed
