We are looking for an exceptional leader to lead the Planning function across our US eCommerce Fashion Business. This job will be located in Hoboken, NJ and will involve occasional travel. This position reports directly into the SVP of Fashion for Walmart US eCommerce.
The Planning Lead champions our merchandise planning strategy and planning improvements necessary to drive gmv and profitability. They are an out-of-the-box thinker who maximizes gross margin dollars and inventory productivity by providing the overall financial direction of a category. The Planning Lead guides their team through the development of seasonal merchandise financial plans by online platform. They will work in partnership with the General Managers to maximize overall financial performance of product categories and develop a collaborative team culture.
Essential Functions of the Role
Lead strategic initiatives across Walmart fashion online platforms. Strategically focus the team to maximize sales and margin, optimize inventory, and grow market share through competitive pricing and promotions.
Collaborate and drive consensus of all short and long term merchandising strategies. Develop, align and implement the division's merchandise plans and inventory buys by modeling, analyzing, and evaluating key variables (seasonal events, assortment mix, market dynamics, gm, inventory liability) on product category performance and risk exposure
Lead and develop forecasts, overseeing all opportunities and risks through forecast process
Focus team to capitalize on seasonal opportunities and adjust plans in season to react to trends and minimize risks. Optimize receipt flow with goal to increase sales and improve gross margin.
Lead inventory management and partner with GMs to provide detailed analysis for time flow and proper levels of merchandise
Deliver on and drive key metrics (for example, sales, GM, inventory, WOS) by reviewing annual, monthly, weekly, and daily projections against actual results
Determine and execute markdowns; developing prioritized markdown recommendations to optimize gross margin and inventory liability
Partner with Replenishment to align category and departmental strategies, inventory and turn plans; and preparing inventory projections for Replenishment
Prepare analyses and reports to assess business trends and performance; providing insight on how key inputs are used in inventory and margin forecasts, decision- making, and ongoing recaps
Translate insights from customers, suppliers, and team into tactical and actionable merchandise business plans
Understand the apparel and accessories industry and uses this knowledge to educate and influence senior stakeholders on the unique apparel and accessories planning needs
Lead and develop world class team, achieving high levels of engagement
Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize

Proven leadership and people development skills, as well as experience leading a planning team
Superior analytical skills and the ability to leverage industry trends and consumer insights to make decisions
Strong business and financial acumen
Experience in a rigorous testing environment. Must be passionate about presenting a fact-based argument and be results/metrics driven.
