Demonstrates up-to-date expertise in Facilities Design and Project Management and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of facilities projects in both existing and new eCommerce fulfillment centers. This position requires leadership through providing expert advice and guidance to others in the Walmart standards and best practices for design, supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs, and building commitment for strategies and proposals.
Manages the design and execution of major repair or enhancement facilities projects (for example, office/break room/restroom expansions, fire suppression, building electrical and lighting, HVAC, or building shell expansion). Own the involvement of necessary internal and external resources; gathering price estimates; gaining approvals; and coordinating the execution of the enhancement or expansion through punch list management and project sign off.
Manages the design and coordination of the shell building design and build for new fulfillment centers through managing general contractors, construction schedules, capital expenses, working with architects to finalize design scopes, soliciting and analyzing bids, and awarding contracts for all facilities requirements.
Manages the change request process with all construction vendors through reviewing timelines, updating project schedules, collaborating with internal customers to understand needs, coordinating requirement of contractors with other vendors in the facility, managing budgets, and communicated updated schedules or scopes to the implementation engineering team.
Supports existing distribution center expansion and equipment modifications by facilitating the development of a scope of work; coordinating necessary resources for design work; obtaining cost estimates; obtaining the required approvals; providing warranty support; and developing a punch list and following up to ensure satisfactory completion.
Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.
